Aksam cayina macaroon yakisir {new tea pot set & macaroons}~

Bugun aksam uzeri dolasmaya ciktim. Sehirde olunca, hava da kotu olunca hem yapacak baska sey olmadigindan hemde isinmak icin magazalari girip bakiyor. Kitapci, forever 21, Zara derken Home Good's'a geldi sira, ugradim ve bir porselen caydanlik + 4 fincanla ciktim. 

Caydanligi almisim, hayirli olsun cayi demlememek olur mu? Olmaaaaz!
Peki, cay demleyince o cay kuru kuru gider mi? Gitmeeeez!

Yolumun uzerindeki Trader Joe'ya ugradigim gibi kaptim macaroonlari :)

This afternoon, I went out to take a walk. I stopped by some stores on my way because there wasn't much to do in such cold weather. Home Good's was one of the stores.
I found this nice porcelain tea pot and cups set. I like to have some shabby chic items in my place (actually maybe only in the kitchen. I am not sure if I like to see it in rest of my apartment.) 

Since I got the pot, I felt like I should use it right away. 
I always like to have tea with some sweets. Before I get back home, I stopped by Trader Joe and bought macaroons.

Artik nasil gozum donmusse bir degil iki paket birden almisim. Acken alis-veris yapmak cidden tehlikeli :)

I think, tea & macaroons are a great combination. I should have them more often. I guess, it's not such a great idea to shop when I'm hungry because I bought 2 packs. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach. 

2. Paket pek macaroon'a benzemiyordu. Hindistan cevizli kakaolu coco star'in cikolata kapli olmayan haline benzettim ama ama o da guzeldi. Bana gore ona da macoroon demek yerine baska bir isim verselermis daha iyi olurmus.

Eger Amerika'ya yolunuz duserse Trader Joe'ya ugrayip alin, deneyin bu bebekleri. Pek cok pastanede yedigim macaroon'dan cok daha lezizdiler.

The first pack was traditional macaroons but the second one was different. It was more like a coconut bar rather than a macaroon.

It would be better, if they give a different name to it. Because actually, it was tasty, just not a macaroon. 

Anyway, I highly recommend the (first pack) macaroons in Trader Joe. It was even better than some of the coffee shop macaroons. 

And please, let me know what is your favorite macaroons (brands or coffee shop if you are in chicago)

Kış güneşi {winter sun} ~

Şu blogda hanim kadin cizgimden kaymamak adina bu basligi attim ama esasen bu gunes bildigin ahmak donduran guneşiydi.
Allah'ım neydi o soguk öyle? Uzun zamandır bu kadar üşümemiştım.
Evin camları kocaman oldugu ve ıçeriye vuran güneş odaları müthış ısıttıgı için anlamamışım.
Ögleden sonra dışarıda yapmam gereken bir kac mecburi için çıktım ve 1 saat içinde dönmeme ragmen dondum.

Cold! It is so cold! So much for november! 
I had to go out for few things I had to do this afternoon, and I wish I never went out.
Güneşin vurdugu yerler dışarıda da normaldi aslında ama gölge dün yagan kar buzla doluydu. Allah muhafaza aksam yürüyüse falan çıksak siyah buzda kayar düşer bir yerımizi kırarız. Öyle sinsi öyle beter.

Sunny parts of the streets was fine actually. The problem was shadow.
Shadow was icy, shadow was dangerous. 

Zavallı scooter'ımla motorsikletimin üzeri de kar olmuş zaten. Ona da ayrıca bir içlendim, üzüldüm.
Höööfff ben bu günu sevmedim.

My poor scooter and motorcycle! I babied my scooter whole summer and now it is so sad that I have 
to leave it out in this cold. :(

Indirim ganimetleri {sale finds} ~

Superga isini biraz abarttigimin farkindayim. Yillar once yasitlarimi kasip kavuran Converse firtinasina bile boyle tutulmamistim. Bir tane almistim, yetmisti. 

Bu sefer oyle olmadi. Ne zaman bir rengini alsam digerinde gozum kaliyor. Simdi de sarisina taktim mesela :) 

Neyse, bu seferki sayilmaz. Nordstrom'da yaz sonu %50 indiriminden aldim. Onumuzdeki yaz şortlarla, eteklerle bol bol giyerim artik.

 I already have 4 pairs of Superga and I bought one more. I know, maybe it is little too much. But I had very valid reasons this time. 
1) it was on sale at the Nordstrom
2) it is neon, and none of my Supergas are neon. I mean, it is different
3) aren't they look so awasome? :)
So I have got it, and I am so happy to have it. Guilt free shopping :)

Hani hic cantam yok ya, bir de canta aldim. Rengini, kalipli yapisini, tamamen deri olmasini ve tabiki kendi agirliginin hafif olmasi olmasini sevdim.  Zaten ne zamandir Kate Spade New York cantalarda gozum vardi. Indirimde denk getirmem iyi oldu. Zira guzel olduklari kadar pahalilar bu bebekler :(

Bu aralar biraz kilo aldim o yuzden canim hic bir sey almak istemiyor.

It has been long time I was looking for a nice Kate Spade bag but unfortunately ones I found never meet with my needs. 
For me, perfect bag should be small enough that it is not looking so bulky and bold, and large enough to carry my wallet, phone and kindle (those are things I carry most of the times with me), it should be leather, and light weight. Unfortunately, there are not many bags like that. 
Whenever I find one,  I always get it. 

After I bought it and take it to home, I still had some concerns. Because I think red is Christmasy color, I may not be able use it for all seasons. And then I started to think it is actually fine, since winter is pretty long in Chicago. 
Maybe because it is lighter shade of red, I can even use it on summer. 
I don't know, we will see.

The reason I couldn't shop more becase i gain few pounds recently and I am not confident with my body. One of the cause of my weight gain is eating out pretty much every day due to construction in my kitchen and it will be same for few more weeks. 
Then I will start to diet in my new kitchen and hopefully I will get my body back and fill up my shopping bag. 
Anyway, even thinking about dieting stresses me out.

Balkonda kar keyfi {snowy day in the balcony}~

Bu gune dair ne planlar yapmistim. Neler neler vardi aklimda.
Once kisliklari kutularindan cikarir sonra yazliklari onlarin yerlerine koyarim. Bir kahve icer, disari cikar, gezer dolasirim. Belki biraz alis-veris yaparim diye dusunuyordum.
Kisliklarin bir kismini cikardim. Yazliklari yerlestirdim. Yoruldum, tam biraz ara vermistim ki, bu manzarayla karsilastim.
Kar yagiyordu hemde lapa lapa!

I was planning to do so many things today before I saw this:
It was shocking at first, and then I have got used to it. 
I mean, I was sad that I can't go out and shop around as comfortable as before but it is still nice, but just little different kind of nice.
When I digest the idea of changing plans, I warmed up water to have coffee in the balcony, and of course I put so many layers of clothes on me. 

Hemen kahvemi hazirlamak icin biraz su isittim. Lahana gibi kat kat giyindim. Kahvemi aldigim gibi balkona ciktim.
Usuyene kadar oturdum.
Yillardir balkonda kar keyfi yap(a)mamistim. Oturdugum evlerde ya balkon yoktu (bu ulkede balkonlu ev bulmak zor malesef :() yada kar yagmayan bir yerde yasiyordum.
I am so glad that we bought this place (i think I say it pretty much everyday).  I was dreaming about to relax in the balcony for ever. Even in the past, when we didn't have an apartment with a balcony. Garden really doesn't feels the same. It doesn't give me such a freedom of endless, undistracted view. And of course there are animals and soil in the garden. I am not comfortable with them too.

Beause of smoke John Hancock tower was invisible for awhile  and then when the darkness came, it became visible again. 

Karanlik cokunce sis dagildi.
Kar tutsa ve yarinda yagsa daha mutlu olurdum ama buna da sukur. Gecen sene ilk kari gormem Ocak'i bulmustu. Bu sene erken basladi. Umarim boyle devam eder. If it snow tomorrow too, I will be even happier but this is fine as well. Last year I had to wait until january to see first snow. This year it started way earlier.  I hope it continue like this. It is good for both nature and us. 

Ps. Fotograflari boyutu cok buyukse soyleyin n'olur. Ipad'den normal gozukuyor ama her zaman kullandigin boyutlardan cok daha buyuk resim kullandim. Bilgisayarda bakamadigim icin bir anormallik varsa bile goremiyorum.

TBS Peppermınt Pumıce Foot Scrub & Intensıve Foot Rescue ile Ayak Bakimi rutinim~

Kendi adima ben ayak konusunda sansli biri degilim. Ince ve kucuk ayakli olmam bir avantaj tabi ama derim cok hassas oldugu icin her ayakkabinin vuruyor olmasi,  parmaklarimin ve topuklarimin cok catliyor olmasi vs. problemler basimi cok agritiyor. Dolayisiyla hayallerimi susleyen yumusacik pembe beyaz topuklarla ruyalarda bulusuyoruz.

Bir kere catlak topuk sorununu ne kadar duzenli ponzayla ovsamda duzeltemedim. Hatta bu aralar ponzanin daha kotu yaptigini bile suphelenmeye basladim. Zira biraktigimdan beri daha iyi durumda topuklarim. 

Dedigim gibi ponzayi biraktim. Peki yerine ne kullandim da duzeldi?
Iste son 2 aydir (acik ayakkabi giymeyi biraktigimdan beri) bu iki arkadasi kullandim ve cok memnun kaldim.

Unfortunately, I am really unlucky feet wise. It is nice that they are small and narrow, so I can find nice stuff on sale and high heels looks even cuter. However, my heels are cracked, and dry. I have used tons of products to fix it. None of them worked so far. 

Normalde The Body Shop urunlerini kalitesine oranla fazla pahali buldugum icin biraz onyargili olmama ragmen bloglarda okudugum guzel yorumlar sonucu gidip bakmaya karar verdim.
Kullandigim cilt bakimi urunlerinden cok memnun oldugum icin (ki bir ara ondan da bahsedecegim) cilt bakim reyonuna  hic yuz vermedim, ve direk vucut bakimina yoneldim.
Yogun nane kokusunu sevdigim icin nedir nasil kullanilir diye dusunmeden daha koklar koklamaz bu seriden bir seyler almaya karar verdim. Daha sonra ihtiyaclarim dogrultusunda bu ikisinde karar kildim.

Recently, I went to The Body Shop because I was keep reading nice reviews about TBS products and I was so excited to try them some of them.

I havent't even looked at the facial skin care products because I am so happy with Dermalogica. I have looked at shower jells and body lotions  and I found them little so over priced. Honestly, I don't think they were special at all.

Then, I saw these beatiful babies and smell them. I was pretty sure I will get them right away. I fall in love with that refreshing minty menthol smell. 

Ilki ölü deriyi attirmayi hedefleyen rahlatici scrub

First one is a foot scrub

Banyoda (yada sicak su dolu bir kovanin icinde) ayaklarimizi yumusattiktan sonra cikarip kurulayip azicik topuklarimiza surup ovalamamiz gerekiyor. Ki ben bu islemi banyodan hemen sonra yapiyorum. 

Gercektende her defasinda derilerin putur putur dokuldugunu kendi gozlerımle görüyorum.
Bu islemi haftada en fazla 2-3 gun yapiyorum. Her gun yapmak fazla gelir diye dusunuyorum ama tabiki ayagindan ayagina fark var. 

 I use it after shower to get ride off death skin on my heel. So far, I have been using pumice and I am not sure, it was really helping at all. In fact, I am suspecting that it was making my heels even worse. 

So, I stopped using pumice. Now, I only use this one and I really observed that it is getting better. 

I agree that it's texture little too rough but since application area is also rough I guess it is fine. Right now I am using it every other day but later I am planning to use it less often. 

 

Scrub sonrasinda da ayni seri de bulunan kremiyle kremliyorum.
O da tipki scrub gibi buram buram nane kokuyor. 

Kremi surdukten sonra hemen corap giymek yerine 10-15 dakika corapsiz bir sekilde hic bir yere degmeden bekliyorum.  Cok cabuk emiyor, hatta adeta iciyor ayaklarim kremi.

Sonrasinda yumusacik ayaklarimim keyfine bakiyorum.

After death, cracky skin left my heels, they need something to protect them. Intensive foot rescue is the one ready to do it. 
This lotion is amazing! 
I apply it and wait for 10-15 minutes. I don't touch anywhere or I don't wear socks or anything. I put my feets up and just wait. 

Then WOALLLAAAA!!!

Within 15 minutes my feet literally drinks it. The only thing I feel is perfectly softened heels without an oily skin (unlike most of the lotions) 

Scrub $14, krem $18  (+vergiler) 2 al 3. Urun bedava vs. kampanyalarlariyla falan daha uygun bir fiyata geliyor tabiki ama Amerika sartlarinda cogunlugun alim gucune nazaran cok ucuz urunler degiller ama ise yariyor olmalarinda teselli buluyorum.

Scrub is $14 and lotion is $18 (of course plus tax). I know it is actually expensive but with the deals like buy 2 get 3rd for free, it comes better. 

At least they really work well, so you get what you paid for which is pretty nice. 

Denediginiz, tavsiye edebileceginiz ayak bakim varsa bilmek isterim. Onerilerinizi bekliyorum.
